How to play in Officail Riftbound events
To play in official Riftbound organized play events:
1. Riot Account
-
Every player must have a Riot account with a display Game Name and Tagline to register for official Riftbound events.
-
If someone doesn’t already have one, they’ll need to create a Riot account (free) before they can register for events like Nexus Night through the official system.
2. Carde.io Account
-
Players also need to create a Carde.io account — this is the event registration platform that hosts Riftbound event listings.
-
You register or log in at the Riftbound event locator/Carde.io site.
3. Link Riot Account with Carde.io
-
Once both accounts exist, the player has to link their Riot account to their Carde.io account before they can join any official event.
-
This linking usually happens the first time they log into Carde.io — they’ll be prompted to sign in with Riot and authorize the connection.
Summary (Simple)
-
Create a Riot account → required for event identity.
-
Create a Carde.io account → used to sign up for events.
-
Link the Riot account to Carde.io → needed before registering for events.
If a Player Has No Account
-
They cannot directly register for official Riftbound events without first creating a Riot account and linking it.
-
So someone without any account will need to:
-
Sign up for a Riot account.
-
Sign up for a Carde.io account.
-
Link the two.
-
After that, they can browse and join Nexus Nights or other events through the official event listing.
