Deck List for Zero Squad & Ichigo (Purple BLEACH) | Union Arena
By David Taylor
Presenting the Union Arena BLEACH Purple 'Zero Squad & Ichigo' deck—complete with a breakdown of the deck list, strategic insights, key build tips, and a guide on how to play it effectively.
The Zero Squad & Ichigo deck is a midrange control strategy that excels at board removal, built around two raid units with strong removal effects: Ichigo Kurosaki and Senjumaru Shutara. These units provide flexible and scalable removal options, capable of handling low-cost threats early and taking down powerful attackers as the game progresses. The strength of this deck lies in its ability to swing tempo by clearing opposing units while simultaneously developing its own offensive board.
Senjumaru Shutara offers efficient removal that doesn’t require you to discard from hand, provided the target’s BP is 2500 or less. However, if needed, you can discard any number of Zero Squad cards from hand to extend her removal threshold by +1000 BP per card, giving you the flexibility to take down larger threats. While this might seem costly in terms of resources, the deck balances it well thanks to the powerful field card, Soul King Palace.
Soul King Palace acts as a consistent engine for hand advantage and deck filtering. Once each turn, it allows you to check the top card of your deck. If it's a Zero Squad card, you can add it to your hand. If not, you may choose to leave it on top or send it to the drop. This interaction ensures that even non-Zero Squad cards don’t go to waste—they can be used as raid costs for Ichigo or as material for generating Color counters. The field's versatility makes it a key piece of your opening hand, and ideally, you’ll want to find it early—preferably by your first or second turn—to begin generating value right away.
Deck-building strategy
While it's important to include a high count of [Trait: Zero Squad] cards to maximize the success rate of Soul King Palace, both versions of Ichigo Kurosaki—the removal-focused Raid Ichigo and the finishing Raid Impact Ichigo—are also essential components of the deck. To ensure you have enough raid targets for Ichigo while maintaining space for attackers, the Color slots are distributed in a 3:1 ratio: three Hyosube and one Ichigo. This ratio helps maintain a consistent color base while still providing adequate raid support. Altogether, the build is tuned to have 16 cards in the 0–1 Ena band, striking a solid balance for early-game development.
Raid 4 Ichigo is a vital card for closing out games. Keeping one in hand until the final turns and deploying two strategically throughout the match significantly increases your chances of finishing off your opponent's last life point.
The allocation of special slots can be adjusted based on personal playstyle. While Sadarakara Shirakutsuji offers powerful value by removing opposing units and drawing cards, its effectiveness is limited if your hand is empty, as reaching 4000 BP becomes unreliable. Due to the slightly heavier focus on Ichigo in this particular build, Getsuga Tensho has been prioritized for more consistent synergy and closing power.
